It was a lovely service and there was a big turnout - all the aisles were packed with John's family and friends.  I held it together.  At the end of the service they played The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go", which made me smile, then "Starman" by David Bowie.  Just what John would have wanted.

I have spoke on the phone with you, here is a verse that helped me cope after Linda and I would like to share it with you.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, to laugh,
to love, to work or play.
Tasks undone must stay that way
I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If parting has left a void, then fill it
with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times,
a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He set me free.

 :hugs: :hugs:

Thank you Peter, Debz and Troll Boy.  I'm trying so hard to honour my Dad's wish for me "to live my life and be happy" - but it's not easy.  I miss him so very much.  I also lost a dear friend last week and I am struggling to cope with all this loss...John's funeral is on Tuesday so I just hope I can keep it together.  Two of the people I loved the most in my life gone within a month.  It's so hard to comprehend this right now.  I know that time will lessen the pain and I know that one day I will smile again when I recall happy times with my Dad and John but right now all I can do is cry for them both.

Sending our deepest condolences  to you and your family. I had the privilege of meeting Mr Nicola Margiotta and he was a complete charmer, a great man and a wonderful family man, who loved his children. R.I.P

Gobe's father has been in hospital for a few weeks as some of you are aware.
Sadly her father passed away a couple of days ago.
