Hiya Lun, I know how you feel with taking loads of meds in a day my liver doesn't like me at all anymore :hugs: LOL I also had intal spinhaler as a kid those bluddy capsules of powder tasted yukky on my tongue and stuck in my throat....gadz
you have just brought back that taste ! I take my azathioprine at night 2 tablets 100mg, but thats for my Systemic lupus erythematosus but it's had the added benefit of helping my skin loads both eczema and HS have been non problamatic, I also take Nabumetones anti inflammatories at night and the following: Uniphylinne and Montelukast tablets for asthma, and inhalers ventolin and serotide. I also take tramadols daily and paracetamols and am currently lowering my steriod dose from 60mg a day to 15 woop woop . And simvastatin for my liver as it's had problems with all the added side effects off drugs since I was 4. And I'll be 40 in June.
I know that Cetirizine is a very good drug for rhinitis as my mum is on it, but it makes her very sleepy at times.

Well, the consultant said I need to up the dose from 0.03 to 0.1. My GP agreed! The eczema isn't what it was, its still there but not as bad. So I am not sure why they are upping the dose plus I have been told to increase my azothioprine from twice a day to three times. PLus the consultant recommended cetirizine twice a day. My liver must love me!! I do feel quite tired in the mornings too - I was on Doxepin to help me sleep but not now I just take a melantonin pill. I am truly a walking meds cabinet but have been since small with Intal Spinhaler all those years back, Franol and so on. PLus the consultant recommended cetirizine twice a day. My liver must love me!!

I have read that Protopic can increase the risk of skin infection and that you should stop using it if you suspect an infection. I hope you get some answers when you see your doc.

Well its been several months now since starting the Protopic. Over the last two days I have notice a painful bump on my face where I have used Protopic. It looks like I have a swelling like what you get when youhave toothache, except its not my teeth....so just for today I am using Betnovate on my face to cover the cracks, which have also returned possibly cos of the sunny weather...
I am seeing a doctor today, and am hoping its just an infection that can be treated with antibiotics....

Protopic made my skin feel odd, hot, rubbery and itchy so I stopped using it. Perhaps you actually became intolerant of the protopic. It might not even be cakes fault. Whatever the reason for your latest outbreak I don't think you should blame yourself or beat yourself up with guilt. You have enough to cope with already. You are only human and it is just not practical to live without some contact with allergens that may trigger your skin. In fact I would say it is nigh on impossible so instead of blaming yourself perhaps you should be congratulating yourself on how well you cope with this overall. Kindnesss, my friend, is better for us than blame and guilt. :hug2:

Protopic 0.03 seems to be working. Has anyone had any side effects or gone into remission? I have heard that like Pimecromlimus, there is a risk of cancer. But so far, my skin looks more together than ever before....BUT:
Over the last few days, much to being under pressure from those who can have the normal Xmas Diet, I succumbed to having some cake. Even before the cake was on the table, I had felt my face being itchy, despite good results from using Protopic. So, in the Xmas spirit, I had some cake. BIG MISTAKE!!! I am now very itchy, red and inflammed, skin is weeping again, not all over, but in some areas. I feel like an absolute twat for doing that to myself, and listening to those who would tell me: "go on have a little bit". They just have no clue, but I blame myself for this huge mistake!
